How to Make Twisted Cheese Sticks
An easy and delicious option for a night meeting with appetizers or to serve at year-end parties or events. These sticks go great with dips. Let's learn how to make them!
Equipment
- Oven
Ingredients
- 10.58 oz of Puff Pastry, frozen (300 g)
- 1 unit of Egg
- 4.59 oz of Mozzarella, grated (130 g)
- Parsley to taste
- 1 tbsp of Parmesan, grated 0.35 oz (10 g)
Instructions
- Allow the pastry to thaw following the package instructions
- Unroll the puff pastry delicately
- Cut the pastry in half
- Whisk the egg with a fork and brush it over the entire pastry
- Place the grated mozzarella only on one half and sprinkle chopped parsley on top
- Fold the pastry in half and press it a bit. If you want, roll it with a rolling pin to the cheese and parsley stick together
- Brush more beaten egg on top and finish with the grated Parmesan
- Make cuts with a sharp knife. I cut in half, then in half again, and after in half again, repeating the same on the other side
- To avoid very long sticks, I made a cut in half lengthwise, so they yielded 16 pieces of puff pastry
- If the pastry is soft like mine, cover and freeze for 15 minutes to make it easier
- With firmer pastry, twist each piece
- Distribute on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
- Bake in a preheated oven at 230°C (446°F) for about 20 minutes or until golden brown
Notes
Tips:
– Valid to: consume immediately, as reheating later is not recommended for puff pastry with cheese.
