How to Make McDonald’s Apple and Banana Pies
McDonald's pies are delicious, and I'm sure you've already thought about making them at home. Today, I teach you a simple step-by-step to prepare the apple or the banana flavors. Let's get started!

Ingredients
Apple Filling
- 2 to 3 units of peeled and chopped Apples
- 1/4 cup of Sugar 1.59 oz (45g)
- 2 tbsp of squeezed Lemon Juice 1.01 fl oz (30ml)
- 1/4 cup of Water 2.03 fl oz (60 ml)
- 2 tsp of Cornstarch 0.21 oz (6g)
- 1/2 tsp of Cinnamon Powder
Banana Filling
- 3 to 4 units of chopped Bananas
- 1/4 cup of Sugar 1.59 oz (45g)
- 2 tbsp of squeezed Lemon Juice 1.01 fl oz (30ml)
- 1/4 cup of Water 2.03 fl oz (60 ml)
- 2 tsp of Cornstarch 0,21 oz (6g)
- 1 tsp of Cinnamon Powder
Base
- 10.58 oz Frozen Puff Pastry (300g)
- 1 tbsp of Butter 0,71 oz (20g)
- 2 tbsp of Sugar 1,06 oz (30g)
- 1 tsp of Cinnamon Powder
Instructions
Fillings
- Place apples, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan over low heat
- Cook for about 9-10 minutes until apples soften and release liquid, then turn off heat
- If using banana, cook for only 2-3 minutes to avoid overcooking
- Dissolve cornstarch in water and quickly add along with ground cinnamon, then stir it
- After mixing well, turn the heat back on
- Cook for about 1-2 minutes more, and when it thickens, turn off heat
Assembly
- Once your filling is at least at room temperature, take the puff pastry out of the freezer
- Let it sit for about 15 minutes at room temperature before working with it, or follow the manufacturer’s recommendations
- Roll out and cut rectangles of equal size
- Fill it and run water with your fingertips on the sides of the dough
- Close by gently pressing the edges
- Next, use a fork to crimp the pie crust edges
- Remove to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil and brush with a thin layer of butter
- Bake in a preheated oven at 392°F (200°C) for about 25-30 minutes or until they begin to turn golden brown
- After baking, brush with another layer of butter and sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture

Tips:
Valid to: To keep crispy, it’s best to consume immediately. However, they can be stored for up to 1 day at room temperature or 3 days in the refrigerator. When reheating, use the oven or air fryer.
